Jesse B. Ashe

Jesse “Trip” Ashe concentrates his practice in the areas of patent prosecution and trademark procurement. Mr. Ashe also counsels clients on patent and trademark licensing, validity and infringement studies, patent and trademark portfolio management, and the procurement and protection of U.S. and foreign patents, trademarks and copyrights. Mr. Ashe focuses on mechanical patents and has helped numerous clients obtain patent and trademark protection in various industries, such as automotive, packaging, swimming pool systems, furniture, medical devices, aircraft and sporting goods.
In addition to prosecuting utility patent applications, Mr. Ashe assists clients in identifying and protecting novel designs by prosecuting design patent applications in the U.S. and abroad. Procurement of various design patents has resulted in numerous successful enforcement actions in the swimming pool and furniture industries.
Mr. Ashe also performs due diligence investigations for clients affected by mergers, acquisitions, and credit facilities. In this aspect, Mr. Ashe ensures that the appropriate records reflect the proper ownership status and maintenance of various intellectual property assets in the U.S. and abroad.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Mr. Ashe served for six years as an officer in the U.S. Air Force, serving as an intelligence officer in Saudi Arabia during Desert Shield/Storm, in Panama during Operation Just Cause, and in Japan.
